Check if the battery is good and replace if necessary. - The battery might be disconnected. Check if the connection between battery and charger is loose, reconnect the battery if necessary."
Solar Off Grid Battery not fully charged.
• Too much load might be connected to the battery. Remove the load and try again.
• The battery temperature might be too low. Use the battery temperature sensor to make sure the temperature is within the operational range.
• This might be caused due to wrong battery type setting. Choose the correct battery type by pressing the Battery Selection button.
• The battery cable might be too small. Use larger gauge battery cable to reduce the voltage drops.
• This might be due to insufficient sunlight being received by the Solar array. Reposition vehicle, if applicable.
Solar Off Grid Battery not charged.
• Too much load might be connected to the battery. Remove the load and try again.
• The battery might be damaged. Check the battery and replace it if necessary.
No Output from Power Centre.
• 120V ac supply might not be connected. Try to connect the power supply and check AC distribution panel for proper operation
• Reverse battery fuses might be blown (See user manual for location). Check for reverse battery connection and replace fuses with same type, if necessary.
• This might indicate a short circuit. Trace RV circuits for possible fault.
• Unit has shutdown due to over voltage. Check the input voltage and rectify it.
Low Output from Power Centre.
• The power center compartment might be too hot. Check air flow to the compartment and improve ventilation
• Excessive load for converter. Reduce load requirements or install larger converter.
• Input voltage might be too low. Correct input supply voltage.
Intermittent or no Output on Generator, from the power centre, but works on Shore Power.
• Unit has shutdown due to lower voltage. Add another load to the generator, this may reduce the “spikes” to an acceptable level.
• Some generators exhibit excessive voltage spikes on the AC power output, this may cause the over voltage protection to shut the unit down. Contact generator manufacturer for possible defect in the generator.
Open Fuse Indicator lit (See user manual for location) on the Power Centre.
• Fuse open. Replace fuse with same type and rating.
LED Charging indicator turns off during daytime when sunshine falls on PV modules properly.
• This might indicate PV array disconnection. Confirm that PV and battery wire connections are correct and tight.
No Off Grid Solar LED indicator on Battery.
• Battery voltage may be less than 8V. Measure battery voltage with the multi-meter. Min.8V will start up the controller.
Battery LED indicator is flashing green quickly.
- Battery voltage higher than over voltage disconnect (OVD) voltage. Check if battery voltage is higher than OVD, and disconnect the PV.
Off Grid Solar Battery LED indicator red and displays “E1”.
• Battery over discharged. When the battery voltage is restored to or above LVR point (low voltage reconnect voltage), the load will recover.
Off Grid Solar Battery LED indicator flashing red.
• Battery Overheating. The controller will automatically turn the system off. Once the temperature declines below 50˚C, the controller will resume.
Off Grid Solar charging (green) and battery indicator (orange) flashing simultaneously.
• Controller overheating. Please try to lower the environment’s temperature, the power of PV or the power of the load.
Green charging LED flashes on the solar battery
• Check if the battery voltages if overly high.
• Disconnect the solar panel.
• If problem persists there may be a problem with your solar panel, contact Furrion Customer Support for assistance at 800-789-3341.
Can my solar panel be used for back up power?
No - The solar panels are not designed to be the sole source of power they are only designed to trickle charge your battery.
The battery light on my solar panel control box is orange
The battery is charging. The LED will turn green when the battery is fully charged.
Why is the charging LED off during the daytime with strong sunlight falling on the solar panels?
• Check to voltage on the battery it may be fully charged
• If the battery is not fully charged make sure the RV and battery wire connections are correct and tight
• If the problem persists contact Furrion Customer Support at 800-789-3341 for assistance.
Can my solar panel charge more than 1 battery at the same time?
Yes - One battery or a group of batteries in a battery bank can be charged simultaneously.
When I connect my solar charger there are no LED lights on the control box
• Check the battery for proper output voltage. A minimum of 6V DC will start the controller.
• If battery has good voltage check the voltage at the solar plug, if no voltage at the solar plug the in-line fuse is blown, take to a dealer for replacement.
• If solar plug has good voltage the solar panel is bad and will need to be replaced. If you are within the 1 year warranty period contact Furrion customer support at 800-789-3341 for assistance.
Can I purchase a Furrion Solar panel to plug into another Solar Panel Manufacturer's outlet?
Furrion Solar panels and plugs are specific to the Furrion Solar Panel product and is not interchangeable with other solar panel manufacturer's products.
The battery LED on my solar panel control box is red and loads are not working
• This indicates the battery is overly discharged • The LED will turn green when the battery is fully charged.
What is the max charging voltage on your 95w portable solar charger and what type of batteries can it charge?
• The max charging voltage is 17.6V dc • The solar charger should only be used to charge standard Lead Acid, Calcium Content, Gel & AGM type 12v batteries.
How long will it take my solar panel to charge the battery?
A normal charge will take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the battery level.
The display on my solar panel control box reads "H" and the red LED is slowly flashing
• The controller temperature is too high. The controller will cut off input and output when its internal temperature exceeds 85 degrees Celsius.
• Disconnect the solar charger and allow the control box to cool. If the problem persists contact Furrion Customer Support at 800-789-3341 for assistance.
Does my solar plug on my camper need to be directly connected to the battery?
• Yes - The solar plug + (Red) wire from the solar plug needs to be connected directly to the positive terminal on the battery with a 5 amp in-line fuse placed as close as possible to the solar plug .
• The black wire from the solar plug needs to be connected directly to the negative terminal on the battery.
The display on my solar panel control box reads "L" and the red LED is slowly flashing.
• This means overload or short circuit.
• Overload: Reduce the load and press the button on the control module one time (the controller will reset after 3 seconds).
• Short circuit: The controller will reset after 10 seconds.
How many amps will the 95w solar panel give me?
The 95w solar panel will produce approximately 10amps.
Why does my transfer switch have 10 AWG aluminum wire?
• These wires are not aluminum. The cable inside is a special marine grade cable as the transfer switches are installed in areas with a chance of condensation. The cable is 10AWG low oxygen 100% copper and the copper cable has a special tin coating over the strands for corrosion resistance and the PVC jacket is a special 105deg C high temp grade.
• Per UL standards marine 10AWG 105 deg cable under 1ft. in length is capable for over 55 amp normal service
Can I set up my Furrion transfer switch up in a hybrid configuration (Utilize both shore and inverter battery power)?
• No - Most inverters have their own internal transfer switch and will sense when line power is missing and will automatically switch to inverter power
• Always install your inverter according to the installation instructions
What are the power ratings on the Furrion Transfer Switches?
• The Furrion 30 amp transfer switch is rated at 30a and 120v
• The Furrion 50 amp transfer switch is rated at 50a and 125v / 250v
If I am using a Furrion 50 amp transfer switch with an inverter (single leg of power) can the legs on the switch be jumpered so both legs of the distribution panel can receive power?
• This will depend on the wattage of the inverter. If the inverter is 2000W it will have 2 legs rated at 15 - 20 amps each. A 1000W inverter will only have 1 leg rated at 15 amps.
• Always refer to the inverter installation instructions.
Can my Furrion 50 amp transfer switch be used with an inverter instead of a generator?
Yes - Your Furrion 50 amp transfer switch can be used with either a generator or an inverter
